For the last few years Zoe Homes (@splodz) has run a daily photo challenge in February. You take a photo to show your interpretation of the day’s theme and post it to social media. I’ve done this for the past couple of years but the photos are spread out across Twitter. I’ll still put them on Twitter but I’ll also collect them in this blog post. Many thanks to Zoe for organising the challenge.

My own adventure started a little over 63 years ago.

“Learning Something“
I’ve done an occasional sudoku in the past but I didn’t know about the community and culture that exists. Recently I found CrackingTheCryptic@crypticcracking and I’ve been learning about techniques like x-wings, swordfish, and schrodinger cells. Brilliant!

“Keeping Warm“
I joined @RamblersGB last year and received this buff. Just the thing for keeping warm and using as a mask, but when I pull it over my face I feel like I’m about to saddle up and rob a stagecoach.
As it happens, my boots are clean today, so here are the things I use to remove the mud when I get home to get my boots ready for the next time.

“In My Pack“
The kit that tends to live in my rucksack. This is what I grabbed for a shortish very slushy walk this afternoon. On longer walks I add things like spare socks, a sit map, and binoculars. And food and drink when picnics are allowed!

“Reflections“
Tree reflecting in car window.

I’ve had to resort to the archives today. Trees growing vertically out of a steep slope at Edge Hill in south Warwickshire. Though it was too much for some…

When I’m using the stepper I count my steps using my pacing beads.

“Make Me Smile”
The bollards outside this school are made to look like pencils with rubbers. This is on one of my regular walking routes and always raises a smile.

This is the River Avon in urban Warwickshire but with a bit of imagination it’s possible to believe for a moment that you’re in the Lake District.
Wednesday 17th February 2021
“Top of My List”
Top of my “Read next” list. It’s a series of short anecdotes, and I keep dipping in here and there. It’s time to read the book properly.

Still cuddling up after nearly 35 years together.

I wonder where that path goes…?
Thursday 25th February 2021

The remains of ridge and furrow. I remember the delight of riding my bike over them as a child.
Friday 26th February 2021
“Happiness”
I couldn’t decide between several options for today’s photo, then realised that a recurring factor was chocolate…
